Biere de Garde

I have only had a few examples of the style as they are not very common around Florida.  I was hoping to brew 5 gallons and let it age in bottles so I would have an extra competition entry when needed.  That plan didn’t come to fruition as my wife it turns out really liked the style.

Jaded Hydra

My current method of chilling is the Jaded Hydra immersion chiller.  The Hydra has become a popular choice for home brewers wishing to stick with an immersion chiller over a plate of counterflow set up.

Amber Waves of Disaster

Every now and again if you brew with regularity something is bound to go wrong or several somethings in this beers case.  As I progress through this blog I think it would be a disservice to not share my beer failures and hopefully what can be learned from them. I give you my worst brew day ever.

Schwarzbier

German black lager is delicious!  I have brewed this beer three times so far with an average score of a 42 and will have another batch underway this weekend.
