About

My name is John Keane.  I am an avid home brewer and have been brewing for a few years now starting with extract and moving into all grain.  I thoroughly enjoy the brewing process from grain to glass with the exception of clean up.

I have always been quite competitive by nature, and when I discovered competition brewing I got hooked.  I believe competitive brewing and judging is a great tool to improving your beer.

I currently brew on a 3 vessel eherms system primarily, although I do still occasionally brew small batches via the BIAB method on my stovetop.  I am a firm believer that while equipment may help in some facets of brewing it is best practices and recipe formulations that make good beer; not shiny equipment.

Apart from brewing I spend the rest of my time as a stay at home dad for a couple of troublesome boys.
